I wanted to share a quick post with our readers about how cell phone security is changing and becoming more and more important. As people continue to use their phones for more, it only makes sense that there’s a growing need to protect your phone and the data you transmit with it.
After all, they’ve really become like small personal computers. More and more you’re able to perform the tasks on your phone that you used to be only able to do on your PC.
So just like we worry about spyware and viruses on our computers, we need to start paying attention to the threats that exist for cell phones. I can only imagine that some naughty people are trying to find ways to capture people’s personal and financial information by infecting cell phones in some way.
The moral of this little rant is that you should apply the same type of cautions when you use your phone that you do on the computer.
That means no opening suspicious attachments or visiting dodgy websites. Pay attention to the emails you get and the links within them.
And obviously only download apps that you trust!
I’m sure the day will come when we read of a massive crime or security breach that involves cell phones, and I for one am determined to not be a part of it!
